Seitanic Steak Seitan

Ingredients

  • 1-2 lb Seitan steak  (3/4 inch thick)
  • 1 can of good tomatoes (use whatever you think is proper)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Fresh parsley
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1-2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 lb of cooked potatoes and or carrots
  • Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Place Seitan, in one layer, in a 9×13-inch baking pan greased.
  3. Spread the potatoes/carrots over the Seitan sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top of the potatoes
  4. Mash up tomatoes and pour on top of the potatoes to cover the Seitan.
  5. Sprinkle with oregano, parsley, onion , black pepper, crushed red pepper, and minced garlic.
  6. Drizzle olive oil on top and bake, uncovered for 30 minutes.
  7. Take steaks out of oven; sprinkle tops with shredded Mozzarella cheese
  8. Return to oven and bake until cheese is melted.
